Quartz Countertops
Engineered, low-maintenance, and consistent, the popular all-rounder.
Quartz is engineered stone, natural quartz combined with resins and pigments, which makes it nonporous, highly durable, and consistent from slab to slab. It's the most popular choice for busy kitchens because it resists stains and never needs sealing.
That low maintenance is the whole appeal. Because quartz doesn't absorb liquids, a spilled glass of red wine or a squeeze of lemon wipes right up, and you never have to reseal it the way you do natural stone. For families with kids, or anyone who just wants a counter that looks good without fuss, it's hard to beat.
We work with leading quartz lines, including MSI's Q Premium Natural Quartz, Cambria, Caesarstone, and Silestone, and we source most of our material from MSI Surfaces, North America's largest stone distributor. Because the pattern is engineered, what you see in the sample is what you get in your kitchen, a big advantage if you want a specific look.
Quartz is also the go-to for a marble look without marble upkeep. Modern patterns mimic the soft veining of Carrara and Calacatta convincingly, but since quartz is nonporous and doesn't etch, you get the bright, classic look without worrying about acids or stains.
One note: quartz isn't the right choice directly around a working fireplace firebox, because its resin binder doesn't love sustained heat. For everything else, kitchens, vanities, islands, it's hard to beat. On a counter, just use a trivet for very hot pans.

A note on Quartz and fireplaces
We do not use quartz directly around a working fireplace firebox. Quartz is engineered with a resin binder, and sustained heat can discolor or damage that resin over time. It is exactly the kind of detail that protects your investment.
For a fireplace surround we use heat-appropriate natural stone, like granite, marble, or quartzite, instead. We are happy to walk you through the right choice for your space.
