Fireplace Surrounds

A stone fireplace surround that becomes the focal point of the room.

Modern floor-to-ceiling white marble slab fireplace surround with a linear gas firebox in a bright, minimalist living room

A stone surround turns a fireplace into the centerpiece of a living room. Because the area sees heat, material choice matters: we use heat-appropriate natural stone like granite, marble, and quartzite.

Important: we do not use engineered quartz directly around a working firebox, quartz contains a resin binder that can discolor or be damaged by sustained heat. That's the kind of detail that protects your investment, and it's why experience matters here.

We template the surround and hearth to your exact opening and wall, then fabricate and install for clean lines and tight seams.

Materials we use

For fireplaces we use heat-appropriate natural stone only. We do not put engineered quartz directly around a working firebox, its resin binder can discolor or be damaged by heat.

Fireplace Surrounds FAQs

How much do quartz countertops cost in Northern Virginia?
A typical Northern Virginia kitchen (about 45 square feet) in quartz runs roughly $4,200–$5,300 installed, including demo and basic prep. Per square foot, quartz generally runs $50–$140+ installed depending on the brand, edge profile, and seam complexity. Your free estimate gives an exact number.
How much do granite countertops cost?
Granite typically runs $40–$100+ per square foot installed in our area, which makes entry-level colors one of the best values in natural stone. A typical kitchen lands around $3,050–$4,175 installed. Exotic colors cost more.
What's the difference between quartz and quartzite?
Quartz is engineered stone (natural quartz plus resin), nonporous, consistent, and never needs sealing. Quartzite is 100% natural stone that looks like marble but is much harder and more durable. Quartz is great for low-maintenance kitchens; quartzite is a premium pick for the marble look with real durability.
Quartz vs granite, which should I choose?
Choose quartz if you want a consistent look and zero maintenance (no sealing). Choose granite if you want a one-of-a-kind natural stone, the best heat resistance, and strong value. Both are excellent; we'll bring samples and help you decide based on how you cook and live.
How long does countertop installation take?
From templating to final install is usually about 1–2 weeks. We template your space, fabrication takes several days, and installation itself is typically a single day. We give you a clear timeline up front and keep you posted.
