Stone is unforgiving, so we measure like it
The single most common complaint homeowners have about countertop installers is measurement errors. It is also the easiest mistake to make and the most expensive to fix. Getting it right is the core of the job.
A countertop is cut from a single slab, and there is no undo. If the template is off by a fraction of an inch, the slab cannot be stretched or patched: it means a wasted slab, a blown budget, and weeks added while a replacement is recut.
It gets harder in real homes, where walls are rarely square, cabinets settle, and sink and cooktop openings have to land exactly, common in older Old Town Alexandria, DC rowhouse, and Fairfax homes. So we template on-site and verify every dimension before any stone is cut.
